Privacy Policy

This journal is written and published by one person and collects almost nothing. What it does collect is set out below, in accordance with the Australian Privacy Principles under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).

What is collected

Only the contents of the enquiry form: your name, email address, an optional phone number, and a message that usually holds a postal address with state and postcode. There are no accounts, no subscriptions, no analytics software and no advertising network on this site.

Separately, the hosting provider keeps standard access logs with IP addresses and request times, used for security and diagnostics.

Why

To reply to you, and for a cleaning kit order, to quote postage, send an emailed invoice and address the parcel. Nothing is sold, rented or used for marketing.

How the form is delivered

Submissions are sent to a private chat using the Telegram Bot API, operated by Telegram Messenger Inc. What you type is therefore transmitted to and stored on Telegram servers outside Australia under Telegram's own terms. Writing to the email address above keeps your message out of that path.

Retention

Letters that lead nowhere are cleared out within the year. Correspondence about an actual order stays only as long as delivery, a return or a consumer guarantee claim could still be raised, and is then destroyed.

Disclosure

To Telegram as described, and to the postal carrier when a parcel is addressed. Otherwise to nobody, unless Australian law requires it.

Access, correction and complaints

Ask by email what is held about you, ask for it to be corrected, or ask for it to be deleted; a reply follows within 30 days. Unresolved complaints may be directed to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.

Security and payments

Everything is served over HTTPS, and the form quietly screens automated submissions with a hidden field. No payment information is handled here at any stage, and card numbers are never requested by email.
